Every student has talents that are special and unique. While some kids are amazing at math, some are great writers. Some kids may not do well on standardized tests, but perhaps they are amazing interior designers or talented video producers. For current and aspiring college students, there are many unique scholarship programs available today that reward them for not only their academic and athletic abilities, but also for their creativity and unique dreams.

 

Unique ScholarshipFor the aspiring fashion designer

Duck Tape’s Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest – Up to $10,000

Deadline – April 2, 2018

Use your imagination and creativity to make a prom dress or tuxedo out of Duck Tape and attend prom in it!

 

For the wildlife enthusiast

Stuttgart – Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Scholarship – Up to $2,000

Deadline – TBD

In association with the World’s Champion Duck Calling Contest, young Duck Callers can compete for scholarship money.

Unique Scholarship

For fans of the supernatural

Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship – Up to $2,000

Deadline – October 31, 2018

Submit an online written response to the question: “Imagine that your high school or college has been overrun with zombies. Your math professor, the cafeteria ladies, and even your best friend have all joined the walking dead. Flesh out a plan to avoid the zombies, including where you’d hide and the top-five things you’d bring to stay alive.”

 

For the one who values safety

American Fire Sprinkler Association’s Scholarship Program – Up to $2,000

Deadline – April 1, 2018

Read an essay on fire sprinklers and complete an open-book multiple choice quiz to be placed in a drawing for the scholarship.

 

For the aspiring advertising executive

Courageous Persuaders Scholarship – Up to $3,000

Deadline – TBD

Create a 30 second TV commercial about the dangers of underage drinking or texting while driving.

 

Unique ScholarshipFor the aspiring architect, interior designer or construction manager

Houzz Scholarship Program – Up to $2,500

Deadlines – June 30th and December 15th

Four design scholarships are available: Women in Architecture, Residential Design, Sustainable Residential Design, and Residential Construction Management.

 

For the creative young woman

Beyoncé Formation Scholars – Up to $25,000

Deadline – TBD

Young women attending Berklee, Parsons, Howard or Spelman who are pursuing studies in creative arts, music, literature or African-American Studies can apply.
